Everything you need to know about exploring Kolka Cape and Vaide's
ancient Liv heritage with us
Our walks are designed for active seniors, so we do involve
gentle slopes and uneven terrain typical of coastal paths.
Most participants manage comfortably, but if you have specific
concerns about your mobility, we'd recommend contacting us
first so we can discuss the terrain and find the right walk
for you.
Our Kolka Cape walk is about 3-4 hours including stops for
stories and views, while the Vaide heritage route takes around
2.5-3 hours. We move at a leisurely pace with plenty of breaks
to catch your breath and soak in the history. There's no
rushing—we're here to help you really experience these places,
not just tick them off.
Wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and layer your
clothing—Baltic coastal weather changes quickly. Bring a light
jacket, sun protection, and a small backpack with water. We'll
send you a detailed packing list when you book, but honestly,
think of what you'd wear for a morning stroll in your
neighborhood, then add a windbreaker.
We're focused on authentic Liv cultural heritage, not just
ticking tourist boxes. Our guides are locals with genuine
connections to these places and their history. You'll learn
how people actually lived here for centuries—their fishing
methods, village structures, seasonal rhythms—not just hear
sanitized facts. It's conversational, respectful, and real.
Late May through September is ideal—the weather's mild,
daylight's abundant, and the coastal landscape is at its most
welcoming. Spring and early autumn have fewer visitors if you
prefer quieter walks. Winter is beautiful but challenging for
coastal walking. We offer walks throughout the season, so pick
what works for you.
Absolutely. The coastal scenery, fresh air, and gentle pace
appeal to everyone. Some folks come for the history and
culture, others for the walk itself and time outdoors. Both
are equally welcome. You'll find the landscape and Liv stories
engaging even if history isn't usually your thing.
